Hey guys,
I purchased a new pair of gloves and thought I’d give them a quick review.
Just as a bit of background info, I train Muay Thai 2 to 3 times a week.
Where I got them: I got these for retail at around $70 US + shipping. However, there is a sale on currently and you can get these gloves at up to 50% off by following this link MUAYTHAISTUFF.COM and browse through the gloves section.
What I’ve used them for: I’ve used these gloves for 3 months now. They’ve been used mostly for sparring, Thai-pad drills and a bit of heavy bag work.
Quality and Durability: I’ve found the quality of leather to be exceptional and the same is true for the construction of the glove. I haven’t had any issues with the glove yet and they still appear to have a lot of life left in them.
The Fit: This glove is slightly roomy which allows for greater breath-ability. Although the glove is roomy this certainly doesn’t mean it is loose. The adjustable Velcro wrist strap can provide a tight fit or a loose fit if that’s what you prefer. As for wrist support the glove comes half way down my forearm completely covering my wrist providing for fairly good wrist support.
Construction and Padding: The stitching on the glove is great and is still holding strong. The padding is thick providing a quality cushion to plant into your sparring partners face that they will be greatly thankful for. There is a good 1.5-2 inch thick layer of padding around the knuckle region that is also consistent around the glove. Padding is the thickest around the knuckle region of the glove.
Pros:
- Great quality glove. Superb.
- Twins is a reputable brand
- Wrist protection
- Good Breathability
- Adjustable fit
Cons:
- A slightly snugger fit around the hand compartment would be nice.
